FRANCOPHONIE CELEBRATION

Romania in highlight.

This activity is organized by Alliance Française Halifax in partnership with Dalhousie University, St-Mary’s University, Mount-St-Vincent University and Université Sainte-Anne, with the support of Consulat général de France dans les Provinces atlantiques.

About International Francophonie Day…

Half a billion Francophones around the world will celebrate their common bond, the French language, as well as their diversity on 20 March, International Day of Francophonie. The date of March 20 was chosen because March 20, 1970 saw the birth an intergovernmental organisation of French-speaking nations, with the creation in Niamey (Niger), of the Agency of Cultural and Technical Cooperation. This organisation adopted a new Charter of Francophony in 2005 and was renamed the International Organisation of La Francophonie (IOF) as it is still known today.More information on the website of IOF  here.

What delights are in Halifax this day …
