The DELF (Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française) and the DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the French language competency of candidates from outside France.
These diplomas are recognized by many institutions and universities around the world and DELF-DALF exams centres are now present in more than 170 countries.
Examinations are independent, and candidates can register for the examination of their choice. Each examination evaluates the four communication skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.
An average grade of 50 out of 100 points for each part of the exam is required to obtain the DELF A1, A2, B1 and B2 diplomas and the DALF C1 C2 diplomas.
Our classes at the Alliance Française Halifax use the same reference levels from beginner (A1) to the most advanced levels (C1/C2). The DELF B2 level gives access to programs in French in most francophone universities in France. It is now widely integrated to French curriculum in immersion schools in Nova Scotia.
